THE LARGER QUESTIONS, TAKEN SERIOUSLY

Existential therapy

For mortality, regret, and working out what the rest of your life is for.

WHAT IT IS

Some things are not symptoms. Death, freedom, being alone in your own experience, and whether any of it means anything. In later life these stop being abstract. I do not hand you an answer. I stay in the question with you.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE

Slower conversations. Fewer worksheets. It suits people who think a lot and are tired of being told to be positive.

GOOD FOR

Mortality, regret, faith that shifted, working out what the rest of your life is for.

WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE

How we would work.

01

Long stretches of talking, with me asking fewer and better questions than most people in your life do.

02

Room for anger at God, at a doctor, at a person who died, without me smoothing it over.

03

Honest looking at time you have left and what you want inside it.

04

No pretending I have solved any of this myself.

QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK ME

Do I need to be religious?

No, and you do not need to be against religion either. Both belong in the room.

Is this just talking?

It is talking with a point. Most people notice their days start to change before the questions get answered.

Is it depressing?

Less than carrying it alone. People usually leave these sessions lighter than they came in.

Not sure this is the one?

You do not have to choose. Tell me what is going on and I will tell you what I think fits.
